The Iveco S-eWay Rigid, which features a modular battery system that enables operators to specify the battery capacity that meets their mission requirements, has gone on sale in the UK.
Battery options range from 280kWh up to the headline 490kWh 7-battery layout, providing a range of up to 248 miles on a single charge.
The location of the modules within the chassis is also flexible, providing bodybuilders with a versatile platform that also supports the installation of a wide range of equipment, from stabiliser legs to side-access stairs.
There are nine wheelbases available, ranging from 3600 to 6700, and the vehicle is available in 4×2 or 6×2 configurations.
It also provides options for rear or full air suspension, ePTO flexibility, and multiple battery configurations on either side of the chassis.
DC charging up to 350kW can provide a 20 to 80% charge – for the five battery model – in less than 45 minutes, equating to 200km of additional range.
Further innovation is found in the FPT eAxle that delivers power without encroaching on cargo volumes or payload capacity, which can supply 480kW of continuous power with a peak wheel torque of 45,000Nm.
The S-eWay is available in a range of GVWs from 20 to 28 tonnes, and a maximum GCW of 44 tonnes.
Mike Cutts, business line director full range UK & ROI at Iveco, said: “Iveco has been an innovator in alternative fuels for over two decades, and the launch of our Iveco S-eWay Rigid really symbolises our ambition to help drive the road of change without compromising mission capability.”
