
New overseas opportunities now open
Matt Smith, Head of International, shares about international activities for the May edition of the SMMT International Update.
This week SMMT opens bookings at two international events. This October we will be going to the Southeastern USA for the Southern Automotive conference in Atlanta, followed by a programme of visits in South Carolina. Then in November we will be taking a group to Türkiye for Automotive Meetings Bursa, which offers meetings with OEMs and Tier suppliers based in Türkiye.
As we open bookings for those events, we will shortly be closing bookings for Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 as the UK pavilion is almost full.

Upcoming events:
29 May – Modena, Italy: Motorsport Club Supported by DBT Italy, Motorsport Club is an annual one-day conference with B2B meetings and networking opportunities, dedicated to promoting and strengthening relationships between Italian and British companies operating in the motorsport industry. 8-12 September, Germany: Automechanika Frankfurt SMMT is organising the UK Pavilion, we are currently allocating spaces so if you are interested please get in touch ASAP.
6-9 October, Georgia and South Carolina, USA: Southeastern Supply Chain trade mission SMMT will be returning to the Southern Automotive Conference in Atlanta, Georgia before heading to South Carolina for a programme of site visits, networking receptions and briefings.
2-4 November – Žilina, Slovakia: CEE Automotive Supply Chain Join the trade mission to Slovakia to explore the supply chain opportunities for UK companies in the Central and Eastern European region.
11-12 November – Bursa, Türkiye: Automotive Meetings Bursa SMMT is considering taking a delegation of UK companies to Automotive Meetings Bursa, a supply chain event for automotive and aftermarket industry. Express interest here to find out more details once confirmed.
