The British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC) represents the pinnacle of commercial vehicle competition in the UK and remains a platform for companies and organisations across the sector to showcase their brands and deliver important messages.
Up to twenty racing trucks take part in races over seven weekends at some of the best-known racing tracks in the UK such as Brands Hatch, Donington Park, Pembrey, Snetterton and Thruxton.
It is a thrilling series that sees tractor units weighing more than five tonnes producing more than 1,000 hp and reaching speeds of 100mph.
A significant topic of interest in the sector is sustainability, and the championship has become one of the first in the UK to commit to solely using sustainable fuel.
For a second consecutive season, Silvey Fleet, a fuel card and fleet management solutions provider, and BWOC, one of the UK’s largest fuel suppliers, have worked with the BTRC to significantly reduce CO2 emissions through the provision of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) to teams and drivers.
Made from 100% renewable and sustainable feedstocks, the renewable diesel can achieve a net 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
In addition, it is a safe and easy alternative that can be used in place of conventional diesel without having to make any engine modifications.
Amy Jones, BWOC Managing Director said: “We’re proud to continue our support of the British Truck Racing Championship as their sustainability partner and sole supplier of renewable diesel.
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to driving innovation, reducing carbon emissions, and leading the way in sustainable transport solutions.
“It’s exciting to see high-performance motorsport embrace cleaner fuels, and we’re thrilled to be part of that journey.”
Sponsors, manufacturers and competitors also receive extensive exposure via TV, social media and print coverage of the championship.
To capitalise on this, van manufacturer Maxus has signed up BTRC champion Ryan Smith as a brand ambassador in a partnership established through the Northside Truck & Van dealership.
The partnership sees Smith driving the T60 Max pickup, with Maxus describing the collaboration as aligning with its strategy to “grow its presence in the UK pickup market by partnering with champions who share the brand’s values.”
This year has been Giti’s Tire’s seventh sponsoring Team Oliver Racing and fourth as exclusive tyre supplier, with all competition trucks fitted with GitiCompete Race-Tuned v1 truck tyres in size 315/70R22.5.

EnerSys also provides V4-certified Odyssey batteries to help power its racing trucks – a Volvo VNL and two MAN TGXs.
At each race meeting, representatives from Giti get to have valuable interactions with fleet owners and their teams, truck drivers and enthusiasts.
Beyond providing high-performance tyres, Giti also has a dedicated race support team offering every team assistance with tyre fitting and expert advice.
In addition, Martin Gibson, Giti Tire’s Manager at European Test Centre, drives an MAN TGX truck for the team at the race events.
“We take everything we learn from our global truck motorsport involvement from the racetrack to improve our everyday truck and bus tyre portfolios,” Gibson said.
“What better way than taking the tyres to their absolute limits and being able to feedback first-hand my thoughts and experiences.”
Meanwhile, Napa Auto Parts and Valvoline have been the official parts suppliers of the series in 2025.
Both brands have been in attendance at all race meetings during the season and on hand to provide parts support to all competitors across Division 1 and Division 2, the latter for trucks with a lower specification.
More than 290 stores form the Napa Auto Parts store network, distributing both car and commercial automotive products throughout the UK and Ireland.
Robin Hill, General Manager, Commercial at Napa Auto Parts, said:“The BTRC has given us a terrific platform to promote the Napa and Valvoline brands over the past few years through Napa Racing UK, and we’re delighted to continue this relationship partnering with the championship.”
For the 2025 season, the BTRC also welcomed LTS Global Solutions as its official transport partner.
Like the BTRC, sustainability is high on the agenda for LTS, as demonstrated by its recent move to a new 131,780 sq. ft head office in Birmingham which is net-zero in carbon emission in terms of its construction.
In recent years, LTS has carried out several major carbon saving initiatives, which helped the firm receive the 2024 Planet Mark Business Certification in recognition of its commitment to sustainability.

As part of its agreement with the championship, LTS branding has featured across all competing race trucks, podium backdrops, official website and other media channels.
Steve Thomas, director of Truck Sport UK, which promotes the series, said: “What they (LTS) do on a day-to-day basis around the world and their stance on sustainability aligns with our championship.”
Rydam Universal, as the series’ official race wheel supplier, supplies wheels under its Solid X Racing brand to all competing drivers and teams, while also working closely with Giti Tires and Truck Sport UK.
The company has enjoyed a longstanding association with the sport having previously sponsored teams such as Collett Truck Racing, MV Commercials, Reid Trucksport and Jock Borthwick Racing.
Originally operating as a vehicle recovery and heavy haulage specialist across Europe, Rydam has evolved into a specialist in supplying vehicles, plant equipment and parts.
John Green, Founder, Rydam Universal, said: “To see how the British Truck Racing Championship has grown in stature in recent years is a testament to the hard-working team that is behind running the series, and the valued commercial partners they already have.
“Getting to showcase who we are and what we do to a new audience is also something we’re hugely excited about.”
Apart from the thrills and spills provided by the racing action, the BTRC provides an important marketing opportunity, as well as a chance to network for commercial vehicle manufacturers, dealer groups and suppliers.
As long as the championship continues to provide opportunities for them to showcase and test their products, the series should continue to prosper.
