Alexander Dennis Limited has delivered two brand new Enviro200 single deck buses to south-east England operator Southdown Buses.

The new 8.9 metre long buses each have 30 seats and are equipped with LED destination displays, USB sockets and a bespoke interior colour scheme.

Southdown Buses is an independent operator in Southern England, delivering services across Surrey, North Kent and Sussex.

Director Steve Wallis said: “These two new buses are a welcome addition to our fleet and go some way to show our commitment to vehicle upgrades which will benefit our customers moving forwards.”

ADL Sales Account Manager Mark Taylor added: “It’s always a pleasure to work with Steve and the team at Southdown Buses. These new buses are a great fit for their fleet and I thank them for their ongoing commitment to British bus manufacturing.”

Meanwhile ADL has been showing a zero-emission double deck bus at the COP26 climate change conference in Glasgow, Scotland.

The bus, which has been lent by bus operator National Express from its West Midlands fleet, has been located inside the security-controlled Blue Zone, where negotiations between world leaders take place.

ADL was invited by the UK Government as organisers of COP26 to present its solutions for sustainable transport to negotiators and global leaders in the Blue Zone.

Paul Davies, ADL President & Managing Director, said: “We are extremely grateful to our colleagues at National Express West Midlands for making one of their buses available for this prestigious event.”
