Strengthening Britain’s global partnerships, from Asia to America
Simon Winterbottom, International Manager, shares about international activities for the November edition of the SMMT International Update.
October has been another busy month for SMMT International, with the team active across North America and Asia. We have taken UK companies to Georgia and South Carolina in the Southeastern USA, partnered with the Advanced Propulsion Centre for a networking reception at The Battery Show North America in Detroit, and in partnership with BIST, hosted a delegation to Beijing for the World Intelligent Connected Vehicle Conference.
SMMT’s work to create opportunities for UK automotive businesses to make overseas connections and explore international markets continues into November. We will head to Türkiye for Automotive Meetings Bursa, followed by our final international activity of 2026 at CoMotion in Los Angeles. Working alongside the British Consulate-General Los Angeles, we’ll be partnering with CoMotion to support a VIP reception promoting the strength and breadth of the UK automotive offer to an international audience.
We’ll then finish the month a little closer to home with the 109th SMMT Annual Dinner. We look forward to seeing many of you there. If you’ve yet to book, make sure you secure your place soon, as the event is almost sold out.
