Seasonal holiday and upgrade closures see UK engine output fall 10.2%.

Britain’s commercial vehicle manufacturing industry continued its strong recovery in July, with production volumes up 46.3% over the same month last year. A total of 9,274 CVs were built in the month, with output for the UK market posting an especially strong gain of 137.6%.

Production down 2% in July as seasonal upgrades and retooling recess kick in.
Year-to-date output remains strong at 911,307 units, with domestic demand up 0%.
Manufacturing for export accounted for 9% of production in the month.

Ian Constance has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC). He is due to take over in September 2015, as Tony Pixton returns to the APC Board having guided the organisation safely through its start-up phase.
