Today, SMMT released figures for May pre-registrations in the UK new car market. The data shows the number of cars disposed of by vehicle manufacturers in May 2017 that were defined as pre-registrations. CLICK HERE: Download the May 2017 release.


The new light commercial vehicle (LCV) market saw an increase in registrations in June 2017 following four consecutive months of decline. Demand for new vans rose by 1.8% last month.


SMMT has released electric vehicle (EV) registrations for June 2017.

The UK new car market has declined for a third consecutive month with 243,454 new units registered in June, according to figures released by SMMT. Registrations fell at a slower pace than in the previous two months, by -4.8%, as demand continued to stabilise following a record first quarter and the subsequent market turbulence caused by the recent changes to Vehicle Excise Duty. The market is now more in line with 2017 forecasts.
