News from the Gregory Distribution: Transport and logistics business Gregory Distribution Ltd (GDL) has announced the purchase of M&D Transport, a refrigerated transport business based in Great Torrington, Devon, which operates in both the UK and mainland Europe mainly in the food and dry goods sectors.
The acquisition involves 18 tractor units and 27 trailers and around 33 M&D employees who will TUPE transfer to GDL on the 1st August 2014.
Dave Stapleton said, “We are delighted to be announcing this deal with GDL and see it as a very positive step for our customers and our people. It will enable us to continue to grow the business and expand our service offering to our customers.”
GDL’s Finance Director, Angela Butler, said, “We have enjoyed a long standing working relationship with M&D, and the purchase of the business will complement our existing refrigerated transport operations and create new opportunities for us. I am particularly delighted that Cathy & David Stapleton, the owners of M & D, will also transfer and join the GDL business, bringing years of transport experience with them.”
The Gregory Group provides temperature controlled transport services to a wide range of customers in the South West, the South Coast and the Midlands.
