Tony Martyn announced as Wrightbus’ new Engineering Director

Wrightbus has appointed Tony Martyn as Engineering Director.

His new role will be to lead the Wrightbus Engineering team in Ballymena reporting to Brian Maybin Group Engineering Director. A key objective is to keep the Wrightbus product offering at the forefront of technological advancement, offering the customer continually enhanced passenger experience and value for money.

He has direct, recent experience of the bus and coach industry, having worked for Alexander Dennis for the last 30 months as Group Head of New Product Development.  He also has over 20 years of specialist commercial vehicle chassis and body design and manufacturing experience, gained in both the on and off highway sectors, covering low to medium volume, high mix customer focused products.

Commenting on his new role, Martyn said, “After just a week in post, it is clear that I have an excellent team of engineers around me with a passion for creating great vehicles, and it is easy to see why Wrightbus have become recognised as the industry’s technology leaders. I intend to keep Wrightbus there and continually set the bar ever higher.

“Having had a detailed look at vehicles in all stages of build I have been very impressed with the product build quality and attention to detail that has far exceeded my expectations.”
