Refrigerated truck rental company Petit Forestier Group has committed to making its rental fleet 100% electric from 2022. The first step has been to agree the purchase of 1,000 Volta Zero 16-tonne zero-emission commercial vehicles, which is Volta Trucks’ largest ever order to date.
The 1,000 EVs will join the company’s fleet of more than 58,500 vehicles, which operate throughout Europe from 280 branches, with UK operations managed from its . The vehicles will be converted for refrigeration use by the Group’s industrial subsidiary, Lecapitaine. User testing is scheduled for 2021 ahead of production commencing in 2022.

The companies will also form a strategic partnership for the co-development of technical expertise to maintain electric vehicles, easing the transition from a fossil fuel to electric fleet.
