Dawsongroup Sweepers has taken delivery of ten Iveco Daily 7.2t chassis cabs with ‘Hotbox’ bodies for road repair work.
Supplied by Northern Commercials Brighouse, the 3750mm wheelbase vehicles have had Thompsons tipping ‘Hotbox’ bodies fitted, and been taken on long-term rental contracts by various local authority and utility sector customers.
They will transport and dispense fresh tarmac for the repair of road networks and installation or reinstatement of infrastructure, such as streetlights.
The 72C18HA8 vehicles feature Iveco’s 180hp 3.0 F1C diesel engine, pushing 430Nm of torque through the rear wheels via the 8-speed automatic Hi-Matic gearbox.
They include electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors, front fog lights, cruise control with speed limiter and manual air conditioning.
Dawsongroup Sweepers usually runs its fleet of 1,200 vehicles for three to five years dependent on usage and expects these to cover an annual mileage of about 20,000 miles.
The company has also placed an extra order for caged tippers on the Daily 7.2t platform, due to high demand.
Glen Carruthers, Dawsongroup Sweepers MD, said: “We’ve built a strong relationship with Iveco and Northern Commercials, who are based a matter of yards from our own depot.
“Daily 7-tonne range presents a compelling package for our rental user’s needs. With chassis cabs at 7.2-tonnes GVW, licensing is relatively simple, and we benefit from an impressive payload with a comparatively small overall footprint.
“The Daily’s high levels of specification and Hi-Matic gearbox provide us with a premium customer offering which is versatile, comfortable, and reliable.”
