A national hygiene and health care product supplier has added two Iveco S-Way rigid trucks to its Lincoln-based fleet.

Nexon Group has taken delivery of two 19-tonne 4×2 rigid AT190S33/P vehicles, which feature 28ft box bodies from Dependable Bodies with 1.5t Dhollandia column tail lifts.

The medium-high roof AT sleeper cabs, which will be used overnight, also include independent night heaters, electric roof hatches, door roller blinds and upgraded standard cool boxes.

Nexon, based in Lincoln, expects to run the S-Ways and both of their R&M packages for four years, with each one covering about 250,000km.

The vehicles have an 8.7-litre Cursor-9 diesel engine, producing 330hp and 1,400Nm of torque through the 12-speed Hi-Tronix gearbox.

The spec also includes Driver Attention Support and Driving Style Evaluation systems, as well as full LED taillights.

Stephen Green, Nexon’s Operations Director, said: “Payload was our primary driver to Iveco, being able to take advantage of favourable running costs on Daily box vans, then the Hi-Matic gearbox caught our attention to improve driver comfort while reducing fuel costs and emissions.

“It made sense to build our fleet around the same brand and now we run 16 vehicles, all Iveco, through 12t Eurocargo to the new Iveco S-Way.

“We decided to climb up to S-Way in order to maximise carrying capacity with a large box body while making sure that the drivers could have a large, modern and comfortable cab to night out in.”
