Carrier Transicold trucks cut the ice for Bradford distributor

A Bradford delivery company has acquired three brand-new Carrier Transicold trucks to transport refrigerated goods over 185,000 miles annually across the UK.

Keep It Cool has taken delivery of the Supra 850 MT multi-temperature units, which have Gray & Adams bodies and are mounted to one 18-tonne and two 12-tonne DAF LF rigids.

The new units, which are designed to deliver constant airflow that is independent of engine speed, ensure rapid pull-down and accurate multi-temperature set point control.

They will operate for up to seven years under Carrier’s BluEdge fixed cost full-service maintenance package, which includes annual temperature control testing, certification and full regulatory checks, as well as access to the company’s oneCALL 24/7 incident management service.

Keep It Cool delivers a range of chilled and frozen food products to supermarkets, hospitals, schools, restaurants and distribution centres nationwide, as well as specialist items, including pharmaceuticals.

The three new vehicles add to its existing 18 temperature-controlled vehicles, from 3.5-tonne vans to 26-tonne rigids, with all but one now Carrier-cooled.

Nikki Redhead, Founder of Keep It Cool, said: “We have been specifying different Carrier products for more than eight years. Our business is rapidly expanding so we’ve turned to Carrier to support that growth.

“These new vehicles were initially bought to replace older trucks, but customer demand required us to take them on as additional assets.”
