Nissan has revealed its new Interstar large van, including an electric version, which is due to go on sale before the end of 2024.
The next generation Interstar will include a wide range of factory-built conversions, including Tipper, Dropside and Box Van.
Interstar-e includes a choice of two electric powertrain options – the top version with an 87kWh battery providing a range of 286 miles, while a smaller 40kWh unit will be offered with a 124-mile range.
Diesel powertrains will also be available, with power outputs of 105PS, 130PS, 150PS and 170PS.
These will all be mated with a six-speed manual, while a nine-speed automatic will be offered on the two most powerful versions.
The Interstar also has a payload of up to 1.6 tonnes for the electric version and two tonnes for conventional ICE options.
Both the diesel and EV versions of the next generation Interstar come with a maximum towing capacity of 2500kg.
Safety features include Forward Emergency Braking, Drowsiness Warning, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and Trailer Sway Assist.
The Interstar includes Nissan’s standard warranty of five years or 100,000 miles, or eight years or 100,000 miles for Interstar-e battery.
Nicolas Tschann, Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Director, Nissan Europe said: “Nissan’s next-gen Interstar is the ultimate ally for essential businesses that keep society running.
“With an all-electric version, increased load capacity, and a diverse range of conversion options, we’re delivering exactly what our everyday champions – the SMEs of the world – need to keep society running smoothly.”
