ACEA Sept 2014

The European new car market grew 6.4% this September, the 13th consecutive month of growth. So far 9,572,259 units have been registered in 2014, a 6.1% increase on this time last year, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).

Much of this increase was led by significant growth in Spain (17.2%) and the UK (9.1%). Similarly Italian (3.6%), German (2.9%) and French (2.1%) markets all expanded in September.

The UK saw its 31st consecutive month of growth in September – the biggest September in a decade – and accounted for more than a third of the EU’s registrations last month with 425,861 cars registered. Read our analysis of the car registrations here.
