South West car dealership group Dick Lovett has taken delivery of two new Volvo FL 4×2 rigids that will be used to deliver Aston Martins and Ferraris to customers.
The 16-tonne FLs, which can carry two SUV-sized vehicles at once and also include front and rear air suspension, are each mounted with a Belle Coachwork twin deck body.
The vehicles are equipped with Euro-6 compliant engines producing 280 hp, with a peak torque of 1,050 Nm, and are driven by automated six-speed I-Sync transmissions.
The trucks feature a Comfort cab, with additional fold up bunk, a suspended and heated driver’s seat, DAB radio and Dura Bright alloy wheels.
There is also a lower window installed in the passenger door and electrically heated and operated main mirrors, as well as Forward Collision Warning with Advanced Emergency Braking and Lane Departure Warning systems.
The vehicles, supplied by Truck and Bus Wales and West, come with a five-year Volvo Gold contract, covering all repairs and wear and tear, as well as preventative maintenance and real time monitoring of the trucks’ critical components.
The trucks will typically operate Monday through Friday, and are expected to cover about 62,000 miles per year.
Aaron Allnutt, Head of Business at Dick Lovett, said: “Volvo’s air suspension means we can work with the optimum load angle every time, making loading and unloading customer vehicles a far less stressful process, even when dealing with the largest cars in the Aston Martin and Ferrari ranges.”
