Motor Show 2006 cleans up at Event awards

15 September 2007 #SMMT News

The 2006 British International Motor Show shined at last night’s Event awards ceremony, winning three categories.

The auto showcase, which moved to London last year, won gold for best marketing campaign and best automotive exhibition, plus a silver in the most improved established exhibition category. But the icing on the cake came with the final award of the evening, the coveted exhibition activity award.

After collecting the night’s top prize, Tim Etchells joint director of show organiser imie (International Motor Industry Events), said:

‘We were delighted when we won the pitch to organise the motor show, we were delighted to have won the support of the manufacturers and visitors at the event itself and now we’re delighted to have won these prestigious awards.’

Imie is gearing up to host another motor show in summer next year. After its successful debut, the show will return to ExCeL in London’s docklands, with doors opening from 23 July to 3 August.
