“August van and truck registrations fell again,” said Paul Everitt, SMMT chief executive. “The truck and van markers face exceptionally tough trading conditions and uncertain demand. Businesses’ own need for new vehicles are well down too. We expect van and truck registrations will stabilise at around 45% down on last year.”
