The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) has announced a £7 million fund to accelerate the development and deployment of fuel cell and hydrogen technologies.

The TSB funding will support the existing research and development into fuel cell and hydrogen technologies and assist the efforts of UK companies towards commercialisation. The programme stipulates that each project funded through the programme must offer significant improvements in:

·         Lowering costs and significantly improving reliability, durability and performance levels of low, intermediate and high temperature fuel cell systems.
·         Addressing the challenges related to hydrogen generation, storage and utilisation.
·         Acceleration of deployment into market.

The latest TSB-funded programme reflects the wide range of approaches to low carbon, efficient transport and provides global market opportunities for UK companies.
