What’s big and Irish and ready to mock the motor industry?

Celebrated stand-up comedian and TV presenter, Dara O Briain, has been announced as guest speaker for the SMMT Annual Dinner sponsored by Lombard on 22 November at the London Hilton, Park Lane.

O Briain, who is renowned for his satire and wit from presenting shows such as ‘Mock the Week’ and ‘The Apprentice You’re Fired’, will be guest speaker at one of industry’s most prestigious annual events, which brings together senior executives from across the UK’s business, political and automotive sectors.

“This year, I am particularly delighted to be joined by Dara O Briain, whose wit, intellect and talent will make for an entertaining evening,” said Paul Everitt, SMMT Chief Executive. “The global automotive industry is emerging from a challenging economic downturn into a new era characterised by sustainable motoring. With renewed government focus on careers and skills in the automotive industry, these are exciting times for the UK’s automotive sector and SMMT’s Annual Dinner provides a great opportunity to come together with friends and colleagues from across the industry.”

Nigel Stein, SMMT’s President, will deliver the keynote industry address and the winners of SMMT’s Award for Automotive Innovation 2011 and the Autocar Courland Next Generation Award will also be announced on the evening.

Last year’s Dinner was attended by over 800 senior industry representatives and this year, SMMT will build on that success. Click through to purchase tickets for the SMMT 95th Annual Dinner supported by Lombard.
