Car owners who have enjoyed top-class service from their local garage are being urged to go online to enter them for a national competition that celebrates the best car service and repair workshops across the UK. The top rated garages from each UK region will be shortlisted for the nationwide Garage of the Year competition, which will be awarded in June.
Garage of the Year is run by Motor Codes, the government-approved garage standards scheme. Consumers who have received first class service are encouraged to rate their garage.

It’s a real opportunity for consumers to share their positive experiences and recognise the excellent workmanship and first class customer service they enjoy from their local garages. The quality of service delivered by the motor industry continues to improve and it’s wonderful to empower the car owners by celebrating the best in the business.”
More than 7,500 main dealer and independent garages are members of the national Motor Codes scheme, which was set up by the UK motor industry on behalf of the government. Motor Codes protects the interests and rights of consumers up and down the country and provides participating motor businesses with a platform to optimise and promote their trusted services.
Mark Terry said: “By posting online reviews for garages they rate, customers can help to signpost the very best services in their local area, which in turn drives up standards across the industry’.
Open to all Motor Codes subscribers, Garage of the Year 2015 runs until 31 May. Online reviews left for garages between those dates will help determine the 11 regional winners from the UK’s top main dealers and independent garages.
The regional winners will be announced week commencing 1 June. Judges from across the motor industry will then select the national winner and runner up who will be announced at the prestigious Auto Express Car of the Year ceremony at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms on 30 June.
