Motor Show welcomes back Kia
Show organiser the SMMT is delighted to learn that MG Rover Group has chosen the British International Motor Show, sponsored by The Daily Telegraph, for the world debut of its new ‘high performance sports car’. Also premiering, are a number of special edition models produced with the help of Atomic Kitten and fashion designer Mathew Williamson.
Commenting on the news, SMMT chief executive Christopher Macgowan said, ‘We are thrilled that MG Rover Group has decided to launch its new sports model at this year’s event. As an international showcase for the industry, the event is the perfect place to show the strength of British design to the rest of the world. It’s great news that this British car will see its world debut on home soil.’
Korean car company Kia has also announced it will be returning to the Show, the first motor show it has attended in the UK since 1997. Making its UK debut in Hall 2 will be its new prestige SUV, the Sorento.
As the Show draws closer the public appetite for this year’s event shows no sign of waning. Advance ticket sales have now reached 58,000, enough people to fill the football grounds of Premiership sides Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion.
With a list of world, European and UK debuts growing by the day, it’s no wonder the Show is generating so much interest:
