SMMT CEO to attend Rustat Conference

SMMT chief executive Paul Everitt will join the panel at this year’s Rustat Conference at Jesus College Cambridge on 9 May representing the motor industry. Joining Lord Turnbull (former head civil service), Patricia Hewitt MP, Sally Keeble MP (Treasury Select Committee), Robert Chote (director Institute for Fiscal Studies), Terry Leahy (Tesco), Vince Cable MP and a wide number of leaders in banking, the city, and industry Paul Everitt will speak about the effects of the recession on UK automotive.


The conference aims to create an opportunity for a considered exchange of views between decision-makers and academics on the vital issues of the day. Special focus will provide an insight into how manufacturing has been affected by the economic downturn. The panel includes senior Cambridge economists who will meet politicians and treasury officials.
