News from Volvo: Robinsons Holidays of Great Harwood, Blackburn, has continued its long association with Volvo Bus following the delivery of two new Volvo B11R coaches with Jonckheere bodywork.

“We’ve heard some excellent reports on the performance of the B11R chassis from other operators,” explained Robinsons Holidays Director, David Lord. “The amount of miles that our vehicles cover means that we require a product that we can trust 100%.

“Volvo have supplied 12 out of our 16 coach fleet and we continue to have a long and successful relationship with them. The new vehicles are going to be used on our UK and European tour programme.”

“Our local Volvo Bus dealership is Thomas Hardie Commercials and they are excellent,” continued David Lord. “The best thing with Volvo is that you get the full package.”

David Lord was also pleased with an added specification on his new vehicles. “We’ve had eight CCTV cameras installed on each vehicle,” he explained. “That not only gives our passengers added security and peace of mind, but it also provides the driver with an added aid.”

The Volvo B11R is equipped with the fuel efficient Volvo D11C six cylinder diesel engine and is specifically designed to have a long service life.

Specified to an extremely high standard, the two new Robinsons Holidays B11Rs each feature 53 passenger seats in blue, with leather trim, two TV monitors, centre water boiler, CD/DVD player and sound system.

Both vehicles are fitted with a centre demountable toilet and are finished in the company’s traditional and highly recognisable dark blue livery.

“Our successful long-term relationship with Robinsons Holidays was a crucial factor in them purchasing two new B11R coaches,” explained Regional Coach Sales Manager, Phil Hudson. “David Lord knows the care and attention that Volvo puts into each and every vehicle and has seen for himself the performance and reliability of the coaches.”
