Transport training specialist Novadata has introduced a new health and safety course specifically aimed at drivers of light goods vehicles and passenger carrying vehicles.

The new module is designed to give drivers and fleet operators the essential basics and best practices for the sector.

It has been approved by JAUPT for period training, which means drivers who complete the course will gain seven hours towards their Driver Certificate of Professional Competence.

Novadata’s Managing Director Su Winch says, “We are keen to provide an extensive range of highly targeted courses that ensure that periodic Driver CPC training is as beneficial and practically applicable as possible for attendees.

“Managers and drivers are required to stay current on health and safety legislation as part of their responsibilities, and this course is designed to help them achieve that, while forming part of the training needed to obtain a Driver Qualification Card, or to keep it up-to-date once they have obtained it.”

The health and safety course has been developed to give both management and drivers a greater understanding of the regulations and what impact they have on their everyday working lives.

It will focus on basic things such as loading and unloading goods and luggage safely, ensuring all Personal Protective Equipment is available and good working order, and how to prevent accidents from occurring in the transport sector.
