News from Scania: Scania has received another order from Strafford’s Coaches Partners Tony and Georgina Strafford at this year’s Euro Bus Expo, with the Wrexham-based operator adding a new Scania Irizar i6 coach.
Scheduled for delivery next spring, this will be the eighth Scania coach to enter service with Strafford’s Coaches since the company first began purchasing Scania in 2005.
“The product is a good one; fuel efficient and reliable and the Irizar bodywork suits us and our customers extremely well,” says Tony Strafford. “We also enjoy excellent service from our local Scania dealer, Deeside Truck Services, who have invested significantly in training and workshop facilities to ensure our needs are catered for.”
Based on a 6×2*4 rear steer 12.9-metre overall length chassis and equipped with Scania’s 400 horsepower Euro 5 engine and fully automated Opticruise gear selection system, the vehicle is fitted with 55 seats, plus driver and courier seats, three-point seat belts, DVD with three monitors, drinks machine, centre toilet and alloy wheels.
Established 27 years ago, Strafford’s Coaches operates its own UK and European tours and is involved in private hire and schools work.
