Vehicle converter Tevo, part of Swedish company Modul-System, will display its latest range of lightweight racking and in-vehicle equipment at the CV Show in April. The company introduced lightweight drawers for vehicle racking systems, weighing around 20% less than previous types, in January this year. This reduces the weight by between 1-2kg per drawer. The company has also reduced the weight of its lockers by around 25%.

Lighter weight racking systems give vehicle operators more usable payload to carry the items they need. Weight reductions have been made by using thinner gauge ultra-high strength steels and aluminium drawer inserts. The company began its weight reduction programme in 2013.

Interior lighting is essential for vans equipped with racking and storage systems. The company has developed LED lighting systems that can be integrated into the company’s T-track support frame to illuminate shelves and drawers, helping to reduce battery drain for vehicles, compared with conventional interior lighting. Other accessories on display at the show include a new hose holder for unit ends as well as five and 10 litre water dispensers. Later in 2015, Tevo will introduce a new drawer unit. This is designed to fit on a 648mm deep shelf, which can be fitted in the back of an estate car.

Tevo converted around 3,000 vehicles in 2014 in the UK at its own site with a further 2,000 conversions carried out by the company’s mobile fitting service and authorised agents. The company can also carry out pre-delivery inspection (PDI) for new vehicles before delivery to the customer.

Modul-System is active across Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, China, North and South America and Australia. Parent company Lifco acquired Danish vehicle converter Sanistaal at the beginning of this year.
