Alexander Dennis has supplied two Enviro200 low-emission buses to family business Shiel Buses for its services in the Scottish Highlands.
The new 10.8 metre-long buses are fitted with Alexander Dennis’s SmartPack efficiency enhancements including stop-start engines that provide Low Emission Bus status.
They also feature wood-effect flooring, double-padded Alexander Dennis SmartSeats trimmed in leather, USB charging points and audio technology with saloon speakers.
Shiel Buses, which has been in business for more than 40 years, has a fleet of about 50 vehicles, many of which are Alexander Dennis Enviro200 single deckers.
The family-owned company’s bus services are focused on Fort William and provide links throughout Lochaber.
David MacGillivray, Managing Director at Shiel Buses, said: “The delivery of these new buses has been great news for our customers – they’re equipped with features and technology to further improve the journey experience for our passengers and have proven very popular since their introduction.”
In December last year, Alexander Dennis also delivered a new Plaxton Panther Cub coach to the operator.
The 10.8m-long coach is built on a Volvo B8R chassis and is equipped with a head-up driver’s display, haptic seat, Level 2 driver safety system and alloy wheels.
Seats include automatic de-recline, armrests, fixed footrests, magazine nets, seat-back tables and USB charging points.
In addition, the coach has installed a fitted rear servery with fridge, a roof-mounted TV monitor, an audio system with Bluetooth and DVD included, cordless microphones and a 360-degree CCTV system.
