Last week SMMT was in Korea with 9 UK companies looking to grow their business at the UK Pavilion at Daegu International Future Auto Expo (DIFA). The DIFA exhibition covered vehicle electrification and connectivity technologies and is a good platform for companies looking to explore the sophisticated Korean market.
While in Korea SMMT met with the Korean Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA) for our first face-face meeting since the pandemic, meeting KAMA’s new President and CEO Kang Nam Hoon.
The Korean market has risen in importance for UK in recent years, with demand for British luxury and high-performance cars making vehicles the No. 1 British export to Korea. But there are opportunities across the board for companies with an innovative offering, who take the time to understand and explore this sophisticated market. SMMT and the Advanced Propulsion Centre co-hosted a reception on the UK pavilion.
