It’s official; this year’s InterTyre Show at the NEC was a
huge hit. That’s the conclusion of research among exhibitors which revealed
a strong desire to return to the next InterTyre Show in 2003 and high levels
of satisfaction with visitor quality.
A massive 83 per cent of exhibitors at this year’s show said
they were either definitely or very likely to return in 2003. Visitor quality
was described as excellent or good by 92 per cent and the majority expressed
a desire to keep the four-day format. None of this year’s exhibitors said they
would not consider returning in 2003.
Commenting on the research results, SMMT chief executive Christopher
Macgowan said, ‘I’m delighted that InterTyre exhibitors felt so positive about
the Show. We certainly got the impression that it was a big hit, with many doing
business right up until the end of the final day. SMMT looks forward to building
on that success in 2003, continuing to run InterTyre alongside our established
trade show for the automotive aftermarket.’
The show’s organising committee meets in September this year
to discuss plans for the next show. InterTyre 2003 will take place at Birmingham’s
NEC from Sunday 27 April to Wednesday 30 April.
Note to editors:
- InterTyre 2001 ran with the European Automotive Trade Show
at the NEC from 29 April to 2 May.
- SMMT plans to run the InterTyre show once every two years,
in alternate years to the biennial Reifen world tyre trade show in Essen.
