InterTyre 2003 got under way last week, as it was officially launched to a packed audience at the NEC, Birmingham. After the success of the inaugural show in 2001, InterTyre is back again next year, and looks set to be bigger and better than before.
The show will run alongside auto 1, the UK Automotive Expo, which was also officially unveiled to the automotive industry. For visitors, this presents a compelling reason to attend – not only will they be able to see all that’s new from the dedicated tyre industry, they will also be able to sample every other sector in the UK automotive industry.
After the presentation, SMMT Chief Executive Christopher Macgowan, said, ‘We are delighted to launch InterTyre 2003 to the tyre industry. The positive feedback we received both during and after the 2001 event was indication enough that we are on the right track. While much of the focus today was on the bold and innovative steps for auto 1, it is important to remember that this is only the second InterTyre, and already it looks set to be the biggest dedicated tyre event in the UK.’
