Less than three weeks after the close of the British International Motor Show, the UK’s biggest motoring event, senior automotive executives are planning to gather again under one roof, this time at the London Hilton Hotel, Park Lane on 26 November 2002.
However, the emphasis won’t be on the glitz and glamour of new product launches, but on the challenge of competition facing, amongst other sectors, the automotive aftermarket.
With the changes to block exemption now coming into force, a period of uncertainty lies ahead for aftermarket companies. Key concerns centre on the restructuring of franchised dealer agreements and new authorised repairers, and the standards of matching quality spare parts.
These will be among the topics covered by guest of honour, PSA Peugeot Citroën President, Jean Martin Folz, and SMMT President, Mike Baunton.
Aftermarket – the UK’s leading aftermarket publication will be hosting a reception for guests from this important sector of the industry which will provide a key opportunity for networking and business development.
Around 1000 guests will gather for the SMMT Centenary Annual Dinner in association with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.
