Car production for export boosts home market decline
Provisional output data released today by the Office for National Statistics shows:
- Car output fell 3.5 per cent in September, year-to-date volumes down 2.1 per cent
- Exports report year to date growth, to account for record share of total output
- Continued growth in output for export, month-on-month and year- to-date

Commercial Vehicle output on track
- September CV production dipped 9.5 per cent month on month
- Year to date output remains stable, just 0.6 per cent down on 2004
- Rolling twelve month total stands at 208,401 units
