”Best of British” speakers boost SMMT Annual Dinner sales

SMMT’s Annual Dinner is sold out. Organisers were forced to close the books last week, following unprecedented demand for tickets.

Themed The Challenge of Design, the dinner will host keynote speaker Peter Horbury, Ford Motor Company executive director of automotive design. This year’s special guest speaker will be Lord Coe, architect of London’s successful 2012 Olympic bid.

Normally the last few weeks see a rush on bookings. But as SMMT president Roger Putnam explained, those who failed to book early this year would be disappointed.

‘Our speaker line-up is first class and I’m sure that has helped boost sales. One man’s face is known across the globe. The other flies the flag for British design through the faces of millions of vehicles. We can promise our 850 guests an entertaining and inspiring evening ahead.’

SMMT’s 89th Annual Dinner takes place at London’s Park Lane Hilton Hotel on 22 November.
