Registrations back to trend, but more distortion for trucks ahead of Euro 4
August registrations up 1.4 per cent to 19,283, year-to-date up 0.2 per cent
Rolling year total down 2.2 per cent to 386,399 units
‘August CV registrations were good and the year to date figure is stable,’ said Christopher Macgowan, SMMT chief executive. ‘Vans, buses and coaches did well for the month, but the October change to the Euro 4 emissions standard continues to distort truck registrations. For the rest of the year, van buyers seem to be taking a ‘wait and see approach,’ while the massive distortion from digitachs still skews truck figures. The bus and coach outlook however, looks very bright.’
