SMMT vice-president, Graham Smith, managing director of Toyota (GB), won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2006 GreenFleet Awards, held at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.
As chairman of the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP), Graham has been instrumental in the success of the eco-label scheme, which aims to increase public awareness of the environmental impact of consumer choice.
Facing the challenge of limited incentives for low carbon vehicles, Graham’s work for LowCVP involves close engagement with Government and Parliamentary committees. He has briefed ministers, their shadows and given evidence to Select Committees on behalf of the Partnership.
For his work on behalf of LowCVP and Toyota, GreenFleet magazine felt him worthy winner of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
