Monday 7 January 2007 – SMMT’s new chief executive Paul Everitt published registration figures for the 2007 market for cars, vans and trucks. Here is a glimpse of some of the coverage.


Sean O’Grady, economics editor of the Independent wrote that ‘car sales have bucked trend with 2.4 million registrations in 2007.’



Mark Milner, industrial editor of the Guardian commented on how new car sales have escaped the credit crunch – for now – and also on the drop in tailpipe CO2 from new cars.
