Vehicle manufacturers will seek to comply with the latest change in advertising regulations within the timeframe set by the revised DfT and VCA guidelines. Vehicle manufacturers already make detailed CO2 information available in a variety of formats at point of sale and in advertisements. In 2005 vehicle manufacturers introduced the voluntary colour coded labelling scheme, giving more than the statutory minimum information, which is now recognised as best practice by the European Commission. Car buyers are increasingly aware of CO2 emissions from vehicles and manufacturers continue to deliver lower-carbon cars to the market place, helping to reduce emission and alleviate high fuel costs.
