Trailer manufacturers looking to use the IVA route for the approval of their products will require the braking system to comply with a new, specific, test procedure.
VOSA recently released details of the final process and documentation that will form part of a Model Report enabling manufacturers to ‘worst case’ trailers at the time of application. IVA applications for similar trailers can then follow the precedent set in the initial Model Report.

All single stage built trailers entering service after 29 October 2012 will be required to have some form of type approval.
