Space at the CV Show 2013 filling-up fast

15 January 2013 #SMMT News

The upcoming Commercial Vehicle (CV) Show and Workshop 2013 is quickly running out of space, organisers report.

With just under three months to go before doors open at Birmingham’s NEC on April 9, the team behind the show say they are receiving a strong flow of applications for space covering all areas of the UK commercial vehicle industry.

“While 2012 proved to be a tough year for the UK commercial vehicle industry, prospects are brighter for 2013 with growth forecast for light vans – building on this year’s stronger results for the heavy end of the market,” said Paul Everitt, SMMT Chief Executive. “This positivity is reflected by the increase in numbers of exhibitors already signed-up and demonstrates the sector’s commitment to drive through economic uncertainty, delivering even more efficient and capable vehicles, products and services to the UK’s CV buyers.”

Geoff Dunning from show partner the RHA added, “Halls 4 and 5 are just about full to capacity and it looks as though the same will be said for Hall 3a.

“The 2013 Show will showcase one of the widest-ever ranges of exhibitors including the majority of the truck, trailer and van manufacturers, tyre specialists, telematics experts, tyre, hydraulic and lifting gear suppliers, tanker operators – the list is seemingly endless. The return of the Cool Pavilion in Hall 4 will be of particular interest to the refrigerated transport operator, with the likes of Cartwright, Gray & Adams, Lawrence David, Paneltex and Solomon bringing their latest developments to operators’ attention.

“I am confident in saying that 2013 will be a great Show for exhibitors and visitors alike. If ever an indicator of the strength and determination of the UK’s road transport and logistics industry were needed, there can be no better example than the 2013 Commercial Vehicle Show and Workshop. If you’re an operator or involved in vehicle maintenance, the NEC is the place you have to be, from 9-11 April.”
