Vauxhall raises bar with BS25999

01 July 2013 #Sustainability Case studies

Vauxhall Motors recently added the highly coveted BS25999 certification to its portfolio. This moves the British automotive manufacturer into an exceptional position within the automotive sector having achieved three significant certifications – Top Employer, Investors in People and now, BS25999.

BS25999 is a perfect fit with the Vauxhall brand and organisation reflecting its high standards of responsibility and reliability across its products and functions. As such, BS25999 is accredited to organisations with various measures and processes in place, endeavouring to maintain continuity of supply in adverse situations such as natural disasters or terrorist attacks, but also minor instances such as ice and snow blocking local road networks.

To gain BS25999 accreditation, Vauxhall had to consistently implement various measures and processes throughout the organisation, many of which involved employees and other stakeholders across the various sites.

Phil Millward, Human Resources Director of Vauxhall Motors, said: “The process of preparing for BS25999 has been very comprehensive and detailed.  The team has devoted many hours to planning, coaching and driving successful implementation of the plan. I’m proud to say that everyone has joined them with enthusiasm resulting in this outstanding achievement.  This brings another example of best practice to Vauxhall.”
