Vauxhall will be holding various activities at its Ellesmere Port facility which it is inviting a number of local schools to participate in on 15 October.
These include:
Chemistry at work
Involves testing water samples for different chemicals to get students thin king about the different ways impacts the environment and how this can be minimalized.
Engine Game
Allows students to understand the processes of an engine by allowing them to deconstruct and reconstruct elements of a scrap engine with help from current engineers.
Designing your own car
An informal opportunity for the students to design their own car to share with others. Competition will be run for the best design.
Business career stand
Provide information to students on all of the career opportunities available to them. With focus also on non-engineering roles within manufacturing, both indirect and direct.
Guess the price
Match car prices up with Vauxhall’s latest models gain an understanding of costs.
Quality game
‘Spot the difference’ between different quality defects on vehicles to get students thinking about the different processes other than production.
Thermography camera
Device that forms an image using infrared radiation, interactive game taking pictures of volunteering individuals to show them how technology is implemented into manufacturing and how the camera can work.
Pneumatics
The application of pressurised gas to produce a mechanical motion. Interactive game works on team building that requires effective communication
