News from Volvo Bus: The recent delivery of two new B9R coaches with Jonckheere bodywork has continued AAA Coaches’ long and successful association with Volvo Bus.
Following the purchase of the vehicles at the end of 2013, the Edinburgh based operator took delivery of the two new coaches in January 2014.
“Our very first Volvo coaches were purchased by my father many years ago,” explained AAA Coaches’ Linda Sutherland. “We were really pleased with them, so we’ve basically been buying them ever since, over many years.
We currently have two Volvo coaches with Jonckheere bodywork and one with Sunsundegui body operating in our fleet.
“We trust Volvo Bus. They’ve supplied good, strong and reliable vehicles for us over the years. I’d also like to specifically mention the local dealership Volvo Trucks and Bus Centre North & Scotland at Broxburn, because their service is second to none. We can get hold of them whenever we need and they are always quick to respond.
“A combination of all of those key factors ensured that it was an easy decision to specify Volvo again when we decided to purchase two new B9R coaches. The vehicles are ideal for our requirements as they are flexible enough to be used across a range of different work,” continued Linda Sutherland.
AAA Coaches’ two new B9R coaches are being used on the company’s contract work with cruise liners, on local school contracts and for private hire purposes.
The new vehicles are fitted with 53 full executive specification passenger seats, with leather headrests. They each have an onboard toilet, as well as CD/DVD system and TV screens. Each coach features white paintwork with the blue AAA Coaches livery.
Fitted with the rear-mounted Volvo D9B engine and incorporating the Volvo I-Shift 12-speed fully automated mechanical gearbox, the B9R provides a smooth and highly fuel-efficient driveline. It provides a dependable foundation for high productivity and fuel economy.
