Production of aerodynamic DAF LFs is set to increase at the Leyland manufacturing plant as the efficient design is now available to buyers across Europe.
Operators have reported fuel savings of more than 5% with the Euro-6 PACCAR Aerobody LF, which is already fully type approved to meet EC WVTA standards and can be registered across all EU member states as a result.
British DAF dealers can call on a fleet of 26 LF Aerobody demonstrators so operators can evaluate the market leading LF in its latest Euro-6 compliant format together with the super frugal and stylish bodywork.
Specially developed fairings and side collars deliver significant savings on both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, while a diffuser further improves the aerodynamics by reducing disruptive air turbulence at the rear. At a cruising speed of 53mph, the Aerobody can be up to 8% more economical.
The LF Aerobody is available at 7.5t, 10t and 12t, in a choice of three body lengths and with a comprehensive range of tail-lift and other options designed around the needs of the UK distribution industry.
Engine options include the 4.5-litre, four-cylinder PACCAR PX-5 engine and the 6.7-litre, six-cylinder PACCAR PX-7 engine with ratings between 152hp and 253hp.
