With less than three weeks to go the organisers of the Commercial Vehicle and Workshop Show have announced that every exhibition space for the event has been sold.

The news gives a clear indication over the importance of the event to both exhibitors and visitors.

The NEC, in Birmingham, will be packed both inside and out with exhibitors showcasing their latest range of vehicles and technology ideal for any fleet manager or operator to get to grips with.

Other than vehicle manufacturers and parts and tool suppliers, there are also a number of trade bodies attending the CV Show and Workshop event at the NEC, in Birmingham over 29 April to 1 May.

As one of the UK’s largest trade bodies, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) represents the whole automotive industry and will demonstrate its range of business-boosting services to exhibitors and visitors at CV Show 2014.

From targeted networking events to buyer/supplier matchmaking services, SMMT’s business development, technical, data, political, communications and international teams keep members in the know on key industry issues, ensuring their voice is heard while providing valuable advice and guidance.

Over the course of the CV Show, SMMT will host companies on its stand to demonstrate the benefits of membership. Get more information on the benefits on offer from cvshow@smmt.co.uk.

Also at the show, the Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE) will promote its irtec licensing scheme for road transport technicians. It promotes a common standard of technical skills across the industry, and was recently given backing by the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) whose vehicle inspectors are to earn irtec licences.

Meanwhile, the Road Haulage Association will concentrate on profitability, compliance and sustainability, helping freight operators get the best price for the jobs they carry out and a fair fuel price.
