News from Goldhofer: An innovative development in axle design, which will optimise vehicle handling and manoeuvrability, will be on display in the UK in April and May, as specialist heavy haulage trailer manufacturer Goldhofer takes its new MPA Troika axle on tour.
Thanks to a suspension stroke of 315mm, plus an individual choice of ride height and a steering angle up to 60 degrees the new axle is transforming traditional trailer technology, ensuring easier driving and increased flexibility.
The axle comprises just one wheel carrier, one strut and one suspension arm. The stripped-back design creates outstanding durability and low kerb weights, as well as easy maintenance, whilst the independent response of the axles allows the trailer to handle uneven surfaces with ease.
The MPA Troika axle has been fitted to the company’s STZ-MPA low-loader, which due to the new axle is Goldhofer’s most agile trailer yet. The low-loader is on show in conjunction with the new Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3 axle tractor unit.
Ivan Collins, Sales Director of Andover Trailers, says, “This latest innovation is a really exciting development and we are delighted to be able to offer Andover Trailers’ customers the new technology through our partnership with Goldhofer.
“The roadshows give us the opportunity to demonstrate to customers how the technology works first-hand and answer any questions they may have on the new product. We’re looking forward to seeing what the UK’s response is to this fantastic innovation.”
Goldhofer’s European Sales Manager, Renato Ramella, adds, “The MPA roadshow is a real highlight for us and Andover as our UK importer. We are convinced our ground breaking MPA axle technology will be met with keen interest in the UK.”
Alongside the UK roadshows, which are being organised by Goldhofer in conjunction with Mercedes-Benz, the STZ-MPA semi-trailer fitted with the new axle will be on display at ScotPlant in Edinburgh, the CV Show in Birmingham, Truckfest in Peterborough and Vertikal Days at Haydock Park.
