Building on the success of its trailer coupling safety solution SafeConnect, Maple has officially launched a new high-security offering, SafeConnect IQ, at the Commercial Vehicle Show.
The standard SafeConnect system protects drivers during the coupling process, by ensuing that brakes cannot physically be released until the driver is safely back in the cab and in full control of the vehicle.
The enhanced IQ version on show at the NEC in Birmingham offers a unique security upgrade of automatic immobilisation once trailers are dropped. The IQ technology provides operators with a sophisticated and user friendly access control solution that ensures only authorised people can connect to and move trailers.
The IQ platform records information such as who, when and where the trailer was coupled, while operators can even opt to remotely authorise trailer movements via an existing telematics solution or the Maple Insight IQ software.
“We’ve had an excellent couple of days at the show so far, visitors to our stand have been really impressed with the simplicity of the SafeConnect system and the protection it offers both driver and the operator. We’ve already had a number of customers commit to orders and trials as they bid to improve the safety of their trailer fleet,” commented Paul Nunn, Marketing Manager for Maple Fleet Services.
