Stoneridge has chosen the 2014 CV Show to release its latest tachograph technology that focuses in on the needs of drivers and operators.

The new SE5000 Exakt Duo 2 has been designed with commercial vehicle fleets in mind and enables fleets to be more time and cost effective.

The new kit comes with a host of enhancements designed to give the driver a wide range of information in a clear and concise manner. One of the latest additions is the configuration of working time directives alongside drivers hours, which will help to cut infringements.

The new system has also been joined by a separate calculation of ‘period of availability’ to cater for the various markets where Stonebridges can be fitted. In the UK it is necessary to include the POA as a separate figure, and the SE5000 Exakt Duo 2 will allow operators to do so via the tachograph.

Another feature requested by drivers was the factoring in of time spent on the ferry or train into their rest hours. This mode will give drivers accurate real-time calculations of how much rest is left over from their daily limit.

Victoria Tramma, Marketing and Central Sales Manager at Stoneridge, said, “Whether a driver, fleet manager, or workshop engineer, our customers had a say in what goes in the new SE5000 Exakt Duo 2.

“All features have been perfectly tailored to our customer’s needs and will help them to plan their week more effectively.

“The CV Show 2014 gives us the perfect opportunity to launch our new SE5000 Exakt Duo 2.”

The Duo 2 will be fitted as standard in all Scania and MAN trucks, and can be retro fitted to older fleets too, with the unit estimated to save time and money as soon a few weeks.
