News from Volvo: Richard Taylor Travel, based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, has taken delivery of a new Volvo B11R Jonckheere bodied coach as the latest addition to its 16 strong fleet.
This is the first time the coach operator has selected Volvo and follows a series of trials undertaken in direct competition with a number of other manufacturers.
Richard Lush, General Manager for Richard Taylor Travel, said, “Our whole purchasing process with Volvo Bus, and in particular our dealings with their Regional Sales Manager Richard Mann, has been fantastic from start to finish.
“We wanted a 53-seater coach to enable us to offer additional flexibility to our customers, as previously the largest capacity coach we could provide was 49. We also wanted to make sure we purchased the right vehicle for our needs, which was why we undertook a series of demonstrations with several coach manufacturers, but the Volvo B11R came out on top in terms of performance, features and appearance and most importantly, our drivers really like driving it.”
Richard Mann, Regional Sales Manager for Volvo Bus, said, “Volvo is delighted to be working with Richard Taylor Travel and that their first experience with us has been so successful. The quality and technical specification of our B11R coach speaks for itself and we’re confident it will continue to be popular with their drivers, while providing excellent service for their customers.”
The planned use for the new B11R is mainly for touring purposes, predominantly in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Featuring two TV monitors, the coach also has an onboard toilet, a hot drinks server and a fridge.
Key features and benefits of the B11R chassis include excellent fuel efficiency, the renowned Volvo i-Shift transmission, automatic function check and trouble-free maintenance.
The B11R also benefits from a range of Volvo’s well-known and renowned safety features, such as the powerful EBS controlled disc brakes and a multiplexed electronics system.
