News from Volvo: Woodstones Coaches of Kidderminster has upgraded its fleet having recently taken delivery of two new Volvo B8R Euro-6 standard coaches featuring Plaxton’s Leopard coach bodywork.

The new coaches are the first Euro-6 standard vehicles delivered to the Worcestershire operator and for Managing Director, Richard Meredith, the combination represents an important environmental investment.

“Our two new Volvo coaches set a new Euro-6 environmental standard locally,” he explains. “We’ve always prided ourselves on being a progressive operator and these vehicles add significantly to our green credentials.

“This delivery also provides us with an opportunity to continue the successful working relationship that we have established with Volvo and Plaxton over a number of years. Our six vehicle fleet is all specified on the Volvo chassis.

“We also liked the chassis size of the B8R and the Plaxton body styling. Overall we just felt the vehicles would be reliable and perfectly compliment the other coaches in our fleet.”

Woodstones’ new 12.8 metre coaches feature the new 7.7 litre D8K Euro-6 engine with SCR technology and a ZF six speed automatic gearbox. They are specified with 57 reclining passenger seats with three point belts and a CCTV system, which combines internal and reversing cameras.

Brian Walker, Volvo Bus Regional Sales Manager adds, “Woodstones Coaches are a long-term Volvo Bus customer. We are delighted they continue to be a Volvo only operator, having now taken delivery of their Euro-6 B8R coaches.”
